Dear Jennie…

I havn’t written one of these for ages. Not sure why, just been otherwise occupied I guess. But Jennie is snowed in, AND has run out of milk, and I know she likes reading my ramblings : ) Trying to think what has happened and/or changed since I last wrote one. I’m working at Jessops, which I really like. Get to learn a bit more about cameras and photography, and get paid for it. Sounds good to me! Havn’t done TOO much to screw up so far…accidently exposed a whole roll of film paper on my second or third day (they are worth about £40 I think – oops), have sold a few people the wrong memory card (oops). Oh and the other day, whilst telling my boss how clumsy I am (which I’m sure he’s noticed) I knocked a whole load of batteries on the floor, then said “you should ask people if they are clumsy in interviews, you don’t want to employ people who are going to be throwing cameras down the stairs!”….thus making him think that I have done this. I actually havn’t. I just tend to look guilty even when I’m telling the truth. I then knocked some more batteries on the floor. Good times! I’m getting back into photography a bit more since working there which is good. Have my film camera back now, and got a flash for it the other day for 9p, pretty epic bargain if you ask me ^^

Mongrel camera.

In other news, my hamster is turning white. She didn’t bite me today, which was nice. She’s gone really fluffy for winter, and when I get her out she just sits in my hand and tries to burrow into it, its very cute.

Here she is eating fabric.

Also getting back into sewing. Maybe I’ll actually get good at making clothes? Made a rather awesome dress with some printed fabric with transformers on it. Although I have nowhere to wear it to haha, sad times. And now I’m making both my pixie costume for Bex’s birthday party next weekend, and also another dress as well. Should keep me busy on my day off tomorrow! The costume is by far my best effort yet, I might just wear it all the time, its THAT good. Really looking forward to going to London next weekend, should be ace : ) OH and I joined the gym, but havn’t been able to go because of all the snow. But keep eating mince pies thinking “its ok because I joined the gym” ahaha :/ I will go next week. Right I’m going to go and watch House now, and cut out more leaves for my pixie skirt.

Love.

I found myself wishing on the way home from work (well actually, whilst sitting on a bench next to a graveyard, in the dark, waiting for my lift) that I was sat on a sofa, drinking tea and watching awful Sunday afternoon TV with Becci and Jennie. However I have had enough tea today I think (3 cups). Had a good day at work despite feeling slightly useless due to lack of product knowledge. I now know slightly more about digital photo frames, and also know that most Sony compacts take the same batteries O_o  Yes. I am knowledgable. The only days I’m not working this week are Tuesday and Sunday, so at least I’ll be getting a slightly fatter paycheck come the end of December, so I can maybe buy half of my flights to New Zealand. I figure if I buy the flight to go out there, then I can start saving again for the flight back….makes sense right? Also need to find some way of keeping tattoo money separate. And also need to give Seb £100. Oops. And there’s this awesome Iron Fist bag with cupcakes on it…. ^_^ I think I’m going to make it my new years resolution to stop being so materialistic. I doubt I’ll stick to it, but at least I can try! Although selling stuff that I never wear on Ebay is helping, as I’m clearing a bit of space in my wardrobe (all the more space for new things…..). No one is getting Christmas presents from me this year. They will have to wait, and have post-Christmas presents! Because I won’t get paid now until Christmas eve and I have about £4 in my account…good times. I think my idea of having pic’n'mix for lunch was not a good one. I didn’t even have that much but I feel even worse now than I did before…urgh. That’ll teach me! And my mum kept me leftovers from Sunday lunch, I feel bad that I don’t want them because now I don’t feel well :/ oops. I’m going to shut up now and stop writing, might go on the Jessops website and swat up on camera knowledge….*sigh* yup I really have nothing better to do with my evening : (

Me and Jennie are watching “hole in the wall.” She has never heard of it before. It makes for quite hilarious/awful viewing! We went to Brighton today. I booked my tattoo appointment (for July) so am now exceedingly poor. Apparently its going to take about 5 hours…ohhh pain! We then spent ages searching for a Wetherspoons, and ended up going to Yates’s instead. Then found the most AMAZING cupcake shop EVER. Seriously ^^ Later we’re going to see New Moon, after we make Twilight cookies hahaha. This is going to be a really short blog because I actually can’t be bothered haha, I am too mesmerised by the skintight silver costumes on hole in the wall! Last night we watched that new sitcom on BBC2, Miranda. We were expecting it to be awful and were surprised to find ourselves in fits of laughter! Shall be watching that next week….^^ Anyway I’m going to melt into Becci’s sofa now and annoy porky the cat whilst watching awful TV. BAI BAI!

FAIL!

My driving instructor kept telling me that I would have a day where I did absolutely everything wrong. Today was that day. It also happened to be the day I had my second mock test. Haha! I did the following wrong (each of these would have failed me): wrong lane on a roundabout, nearly hit a parked car, went on the curb, parked on double yellow lines *cringe*, couldn’t do a parallel park, couldn’t reverse left around a corner, and something else that I can’t quite remember… hahaha! Brb, cold, need scarf. Much better. I feel like I should be more annoyed at myself for getting all this wrong, but I’m not, all I could do at the time was laugh!

I’m booking coach tickets to go to Leicester for a few days to see Dan and Wookie (and hopefully Gemma and other peeps?). We’re going to go to Mosh. Its really sad but I already know what I’m gonna wear… I hardly ever get to dress up in my gothy stuff these days as I never go out anywhere : ( So New Rocks, corset, tiny skirt and fishnets it is! I can’t wait! Ooohh and Criterion pizza. OMG and I’m going to go to Onestop. How I miss that shop, I still havn’t found one to rival it! I do miss Leicester, they were good times : ) I’m also looking forward to failing at playing Dan’s Wii, as I am AWFUL.

I’m watching Alun Davies trying to explain string theory. Its all wrong anyway as those of you who have read my paper on Cupcake Theory will know ; ) I must concentrate so I understand what they are going on about, byee for now!

Love (especially for you, yes you, in the corner there)

Two jobs? Well…

Today I fell in love. With a pair of boots. They are knee high and purple. Becci is going to love them. My Mum said she’ll get them for me for Christmas….they look like the kind of boots a super hero(ine) would wear. Yeah I’m cool… This is what happens when I work in a shoe shop! I end up with a lot of shoes I don’t need! I’m wondering if I’ll be able to wear them with my electric blue skinny jeans… Marian said that purple goes well with lime green, so I told her I’m going to try my hardest to get hold of lime green trousers JUST to wear with the boots. Jon asked me if I was working on Saturday this week. I told him I was going to Oxford to watch the new Twilight with my friends. His response was “I thought you were cool” hahaha! Tried to redeem myself by telling him about my tatt consult on Saturday, but that got us onto the subject of the cupcake….yeah he thinks I’m cool now… O_o

Got a phone call from Jessops, they offered me a job, hooray! So maybe working there, and at Clarks, I can save enough money for my flights, visa and tattoo, and also have enough to pay Seb the £100 I owe him (and my dad the millions of pounds I owe him *sigh*). They can’t have had many people applying, considering I said to the manager “yeah I don’t know much about cameras” then got onto the topic of sci-fi (my interview technique is second to none *said in the voice of Tony Harrison*), and they still gave me a job. Obviously its my natural charm….*cough*

Driving was fun today. Went on the dual carriageway up to Bury and back, then on and off it around Foxhall, so I know where they might make me go on my test. 30mph seems so SLOW after going at that speed lol. Got a 4 hour lesson tomorrow, and another mock test (maybe I will pass this one?). I’m going to watch Pride and Prejudice with my mum in a bit. I’m excited, because I am in love with Matthew Mcfadyen’s Mr Darcy. He’s just beautiful! Definately on my list. I think they should bring him back in Spooks as well, I mean Ruth came back last week, and Tom didn’t actually die so….!!

I’m wondering if I have enough battery power to watch the new episode of Dexter tonight, damn my forgetfulness and leaving my lead at Ed’s! Ahh well, if not its something to look forward to tomorrow night I guess O_o although I can’t go to bed too late as I have a Skype call with the new zealand people on Wednesday morning at 8.30 and I have to be coherent and able to sound like a person who would be a good research assistant (good luck there hahaha!) I wonder if I’ll end up with a Kiwi accent by the time I get home? My Suffolk accent is getting worse just from working at Clarks haha : (Anyway this blog is far too long,  so I’m going to go carry on reading Dark Side of the Sun (which is very good so far, I’m working my way through all Seb’s books).  Au revoir!

2 is bigger than 4.

It would appear that I am moving to New Zealand for 3 months in April. Hmmm. I keep expecting someone to email me and say something like “actually sorry, we made a mistake, we don’t want you to be our research assistant!” and then I won’t be going anymore. But instead I have an email saying they are looking forward to talking to me on Wednesday, and that the sooner I book my flights the cheaper they will be. Considering all I have is a saturday job at the moment, being able to afford flights right now is not likely! I went for an interview at Jessops today, think I bored the manager to death with my inane babble about driving lessons and Battlestar Galactica (remake, not original). But we shall see, I don’t really know a huge amount about cameras so won’t be surprised if they reject me! :D

Went to Bury last night to see Ed ^^ we watched some Tim Minchin and played On the Bus. Have to say, Elliott, bless him, did not have much luck at that game! Best quote of the night was when I gave him a 4, he said higher, then he got a two, and when I told him to drink he looked surprised and said “What? 2 is bigger than 4!” I lolled quite a lot.

I’m quite sleepy, so can’t really be bothered to write any more. I’m going to carry on watching this program about piranahs. New Moon comes out in a week :D there are massive posters on the buses in town, which makes me happy. Now that Jennie is also a Twilight follower I am sure she will be looking forward to it as much as me and Becci! It had better be good or I’ll not be best pleased… Haha I just changed the channel on tv and Sting is singing some kind of folky song about snow, he has a beard, it makes him look like a fisherman, its great! Anyway….going now….to do something unproductive (and maybe even finally finish Pride and Prejudice).

Mini-holiday.

Graduated last week. I have the scars to prove it, quite literally! Had an awesome time dressing up in the silly gown, seeing my friends and going out, then going home and playing ring of fire ’til 4am. Good times. Saw Rach the next day, watched some House and had a catch up. It still baffles me how much Ed looks like Hugh Laurie. I bet he looks exactly the same when he’s 50 or however old Hugh is now! Then got the train to Oxford with Jennie. As usual I was running late and arrived at Paddington a bit flustered. But bought some tea and had a nice chat with Jennie on the train. Becci picked us up from the station, we went to her house, ate some lasagne and watched Never Mind the Buzzcocks (I love Noel). The next day we set off for Exeter, the drive was ok! Except for the part where I spilt coffee on my beautiful electric blue jeans. I don’t think they’ve stained. Ate some horribly wonderful pic’n'mix and discovered the wonders of caffeinated energy gum.

Sweeties.

Stopped off in a little village called Topsham where we ate toasties and went in some shops where we couldn’t afford to buy anything. When we got to Jennie’s we watched some awful TV, then watched Twilight. Becci and I recited most of the lines before they were said (some people need to brush up on theirs, Becci…), which made Jennie rather sad I think. Oh and we also made cupcakes and ate some rather wonderful rice-free risotto. On Saturday we went into Exeter, have to say its brilliant for shopping! I bought a b-e-a-utiful dress I really don’t need, but Becci spent more than me which made me feel better. Wagamammas happened at around lunchtime, mmm.

Jennie-walrus.

I want Iron Fist shoes, I saw some in Schuh and I love them. Buy me a pair and I shall love you forever! We went back to Jennie’s and made pasta bake with goat in it, then played some cards and attacked each other with makeup whilst watching more awful tv and drinking wine.

Angry eyebrows.

By the end of the night we were watching a truly rubbish teen movie (called Get Over It) and had eaten the remaining cupcakes. All in all, a great mini-holiday ^^ The journey home wasn’t even all that bad (all 7 hours of it).

I love wine.

I’m going to watch Dexter now. Sleep is beckoning and I have to be up at the ridiculous hour of 7am to go give my blood to the nice nurse at Otley surgery.

Love ^^
